I am so glad that black authors are stepping out of the box that we seemed to have been placed in. We are now writing more diverse fiction and the writing is getting better and better!

I for one applaud AA authors. As an avid reader I am glad that our brothers and sisters are stepping out of the box and writing more and more diverse fiction. Genres where we were previously unheard (or unwritten) we are now selling. Urban lit is nothing new. Iceberg Slim and Donald Goines put it down long before most of these new authors were born. My thing is, if you are going to write--write well! No matter what genre! Make sure your books are edited!
