In FRACTURED LEGACY Neff keeps his sixth in the Cascades he knows and loves as his home. And that likely is the reason his books work so convincingly well - nothing seems out of place, every character's interaction not only with each other but also with the surroundings. The story is complex (in the right sort of way) but can be briefly summarized as a `complex murder investigation that involves the clash of an old family legacy, tribal land rights and a marriage in trouble.
Neff hits the nail on the head again and for those who have a soft spot in their hearts for the Pacific Northwest as well as an insatiable appetite for well constructed murder mysteries, this is a book as solid as the mountain rang e.
