In the Spotlight for the Month of September 2005
Says the author: I was born and raised in Memphis, TN (9/11/66) and now reside in Hernando, Ms with my husband of 6 years and our 3 year old son, Jakob.  I am employed full time and have worked in the transportation industry for 19 years. Since youth I have been an avid reader and a closet writer,  so much so that until this book, I've only shared my work with one or two people.

When I handed my Mom a copy of "The Third Son" it was the first she knew of the project and the first time she'd ever read my work, mainly due to my lack of self-confidence. As an average student with a high school education, I've never taken writing courses and have always kept my writing close to the chest so to speak. I had all but abandoned my hobby when I was plagued with CTS in both wrist so bad that I couldn't even write a paragraph without being in pain.

I had surgery on both of my hands in 2000, and began "The Third Son" early 2002 while on maternity leave with my son. Inching from my shell I offered a couple chapters to my best friend, Diana and the rest, they say is history. She would not let me abandon this story, she pushed me every step of the way, slowly increasing the people reading along as we revised and edited to seven women in four different states.

When they all started offering their tax returns and piggy banks to have this book published I scraped every resource I had to bring "The Third Son" to life, if nothing else for the people that believed in me when even I did not have the courage to believe in myself.

It's been said it takes a village to raise a child, but I feel it applies because thanks to my friends, the people at iUniverse, and my wonderful proof editor at EditingLane,  I have fulfilled a childhood dream.
