Another poem of mine, "Paradise" from my upcoming book of poetry "The Miseducation of James Daniels" will be featured by Pen and Poem Publishers. The anthology is called "Poets Quest". I am very happy as this poem is one of my favorite poems I've ever written.
Paradise
Billy Holiday sang-,
Maya Angelou wrote,
Malcolm-X marched-
Martin Luther King spoke,
I sat and observed-
There I saw a rainbow in the sky,
So I sat in the sun reading poems by Langston Hughes, the whole entire month of July-
Stayed gone ‘til November-
Then the cold days were there in number,
It was when I heard the Christmas Eve notes from that of Mahalia Jackson-
they brought me oh so much comfort,
I was in paradise.
In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
