Ten full days of presentations and book signings in Libraries in Texas have now been completed. Jeannie, A Texas Frontier Girl, Book One will be featured in the Summer Reading Program of many libraries in Texas.The historical fiction book based on family fact fits the children's summer reading theme: "Read Across Texas- Read About Texas."
Faye Nichols, Librarian Director in Gatesville, Texas, (author's hometown and birthplace) scheduled Evelyn Horan to present her book at a booksigning for the children on Wed. May 29, 10:00 AM. There was a wonderful turn-out and the presentation held in the City Hall Auditorium seated many adults and children. (One-half of the author's proceeds were happily donated to the Library Building Fund.)

Editor of Eastland Telegram newspaper, Houston O'Brien, Eastland, Texas, (locale of Jeannie, A Texas Frontier Girl, Book One), featured the author and the book in several news presentations before and after visits in Eastland County. Reporter Margaret Louise wrote a feature article for the Eastland paper that included a photo of the author with children in the Gorman, Texas, library. There were also other photos and news reviews in various other cities and library locations.

Reporter Bonnie Easler, of the Killeen Daily Herald placed an outstanding full page color review with photos on the ARTS page that recorded the author's visit to the Killeen Copper Mountain Branch Library.
The Coryell County libraries and librarians, along with libraries in Eastland County, were all cordial and welcoming and there was good attendance. Much beforehand preparation was noted with colorful and charming bulletin boards, flyers, and bookcase displays, all prepared in welcome for author Evelyn Horan and her book, Jeannie, A Texas Frontier Girl, Book One.
"I am deeply grateful for the wonderful Texas hospitality I experienced in my home state. I shall never forget the hugs and the smiles of welcome from the librarians, children, and adults," author, Evelyn Horan states. "And, also,.of the 400 books I brought with me to Texas, with sales and book gifts to libraries subtracted, I brought only 25 books back with me. This tells me my tour was indeed a great success, thanks to the efforts of everyone involved in making my visit a wonderful experience. I am most grateful."
