Judith Laura's most recent novel, Beyond All Desiring, is a finalist in the 2006 Word/Work Book Awards, Media Darlings Literature Art & Sound announced today. The awards are given to fiction and non-fiction books published by small publishers, or through print-on-demand technology, or are self-published.

Beyond All Desiring, a novel with strong women's interest, erotic passages, and elements of magical realism, has been praised by reviewers such as Rosie Bindra of Freshfiction.com, who calls it "a fantastic book that looks into the life of a woman who didn't conform to the rules of society in her time." Internet Book List calls, "a terrific read."
