Leslie P. Garcia's short story, Horse vs. Unicorn, has been included in the 2018 anthology Pieces of Us, compiled by Laredo write Now, a south Texas writers' group. 

Garcia joined five other authors in representing the south Texas area with its distinct, diverse, and passionate voices. They include Nicolas Trevino, Raj Moorjani, Crystal Vasquez, Elsa Martinez, and Stephanie Garza. 

Trevino's story introduces the mysterious and exclusive Generous Barons Guild--but will peace ever come to Hubert Greyson?

Master of haiku Moorjani portrays a love affair that reaches from U. S. shores to India, magnificent in scope and emotion.

Vasquez paints a dark future for the world, including a Mexico that regulates socilizing among classes based on status.

In keeping with the border culture, Martinez's story, Lorezo y Rafaela, is in Spanish.

Finally, Garza's love story has the simple eloquence of a classic love story, with unforgettable characters and plot twists.
