Christy Tillery French has been nominated as Poet of the Year for 2002 and has been invited by the International Society of Poets to read her poetry at the 2002 International Society of Poets Summer Convention and Symposium on August 23, 2002, in Washington, D.C., where she will be formally inducted as an International Poet of Merit and Honored Member for 2002.
Christy will be honored with two separate awards for her poetic achievement at special ceremonies. Actress Florence Henderson and Pulitzer Prize winning poet Stephen Dunn will be there to announce the awards given during the convention.
