My Nan, bless her, lost her true love earlier this year shortly after breaking her hip. She worries about the time my mum has spent away from the family as she really has had a battle to get back on her feet. So I wanted the world to share the good news - SHE''S GETTING BETTER! - Please take a moment to wish her well at 86 she really has been through the wars!
NAN’S NEW HORIZON
We once believed life would go on forever
Like the love they shared so dear
But alas, life actually got in the way
And now her loved one is no longer here.
For the man she loved more than life
Showed her a special way to live
He gave her love and happiness
The most precious gifts he could give.
Then his body grew weary
And he fought a miraculous fight
Treasuring each moment they could
Until his daytimes turned to night.
For he slipped away too quickly
Like a leaf blowing in the wind
She could have caught up with him
But she knew she had to stay behind.
For there are so many of us here
Who love and need her so
Our thoughts are always with her
And we will never want her to go.
We all understand there is a time
When she will fly just as free
But that time is not right now
So she’s fighting for us all to see.
Her feet she will find once again
And she’ll walk, just wait and see
She’s doing so much for those around
With the love of her family.
She has never asked for riches
Because possessions do not last
For she has something more special
All her memories from the past.
She still holds him close; her love
When she needs him in her heart
And she knows he’s not gone forever
It’s just simply they are apart.
She still has things she has to do
Like business that’s unfinished
And now her family watch over her
More than he could ever have wished!
For Nan this is a simple message
To tell you that we all know
How hard it really has been for you
But you never gave in or let go.
Each day became a challenge
To struggle your way through
Your leg and heart in so much pain
And there was little we could do.
We know why you fight so hard
And we treasure that, it’s true
Because just as much as you love us,
We so deeply all love you.
You are our inspiration Nan
The person behind all of us
The way you get on with life
And you never cause a fuss.
As we cannot all be by your side
We are content in the knowing
That our Mum is doing all she can
As the results are truly showing.
See Mum is our representative
She’s our Angel and messenger too
Taking good care of our Nan
Is what we all want her to do.
So you take your time, my dear
Do not rush or struggle through
Because healing takes it own time
And our hearts are all with you.
Don’t worry about how long it takes
‘Cos we want you fit and well
I know if you had a magic wand
You’d use it for a ‘get better’ spell.
But everything has a time
And we all know for sure
You’ll bring our Mum back to us
When healing you need no more.
So don’t worry about the distance
As in our hearts you’re both so near
“I walked again today, my love”
Is what we like to hear.
Take little steps forwards
Mending slowly is always best
We know you’ll get there in the end
With Mum’s help and love from all the rest.
WE LOVE YOU NAN, AND AS YOU KNOW NOT EVERY DAY CAN BE SUNNY – SO REST WHEN THE DAYS ARE CLOUDY!!
