Life In The Ozarks Magazine to feature my monthly historical column beginning with January 2007 issue
Life In The Ozarks is a magazine published monthly out of Shirley, Arkansas. It contains Ozark news, recipes, tall tales and historical columns from all over the Ozarks.
My column, to be known as Shadows of the Past, will tell stories about people and communities, both of which are no longer with us. The Ozarks are filled with the remains of communities that once were busy and thriving. Many of them have left no trace at all of their existence. For others, there are the leavings of old mills, blacksmith shops, rock foundations and fireplaces, wells, cemeteries and the like.
I have wandered to these places for fifteen or twenty years now, and written about them in newspapers for almost that long. I am please to have become a part of the writers featured in Life In The Ozarks. See www.lifeintheozarks.com
