History

Washington County Historical Society declares Velda Brotherton a Distinguished Citizen

On Sunday, October 17, members of the Washington County Historical Society (Arkansas) presented its annual award for persons responsible for helping preserving history in the area. Hugh Kincaid and Velda Brotherton were the recipients of this award. Plaques will be presented at the annual Christmas Open House at Headquarters House in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Brotherton was honored because of her historical articles and books published over the past 20 years. She continues to write for two weekly newspapers in the area and interview residents who have stories to share.
