With so many requests for appearances by fans to add them to a stop on my Highway to Hell Tour I thought why not put the pedal to the metal and hop outside the authors box. This is not your normal way of doing things but I thought what the hell let's make the ride one to remember by doing something different.
I would love to come to each and everyone of your hometowns and would but there's the matter of real life kicking in and well that's when it becomes difficult to get to you. Sadly it takes the greenbacks to get me from point a to b and all over c, d and e. Sooo with that in mind I came up with a bit of an idea. Why not try to get myself some sponsors. Let's make it a rockin' tour across America.
To start let me give you some background: most authors don't get paid for their appearances and I wouldn't want you to pay for my appearance but just help me get to you. If you're in driving range I'll hop in my car and drive there but like you West Coasters, there's just not enough change jingling in my pocket to get me there without help. No your publisher doesn't fly you around the world trust me and besides I'm with a small press and its all they can do to help me market my work. We actually share the task.
You all know me well enough by now that I would do a signing just about anywhere. I've done tattoo conventions, tattoo shops, pubs, pizza joints, bookstores and the usual run of the mill convention circuit which most of you can't afford to get into because memberships are so expensive.
So what I was thinking and just flow with me here, but what I was thinking is that it would be cool to turn this tour into a tour for the people. If you'll help me I'll come. If you're a business or manager sponsor me by giving me a place to sit and sell my books (anywhere's cool) - help me by donating to the tour so I can get me a room at the motel 8 or whichever one leaves the light on for you ha ha...no seriously though we could work this up really cool and it would get me to you.
If you would like to sponsor me on the Highway to Hell Tour I will be in your town. You name the place and we'll work out the date.
If you wish to just sponsor the whole ride through hell and back we will promote you everywhere I go.
I have found that it never hurts to ask for help so I thought what the hell let's try it and see what happens.
On my myspace you will see down the left hand side some of the places where folks have asked me to come - I haven't been able to keep up with all of them but you get the idea. You will also see the places I'm going so if you're game I'm game and I assure you I'm not out to take your money just trying to get the '69 Caddie's wheels rolling across the pavement.
Also I want to work out something for those who are the highest donors to the cause. It will be something really cool and fun for all but we can work those details out as we go. In the end there will be a Highway to Hell Tour T-Shirt that we will sell and have all your names listed on it. We would even do special t-shirts for certain events to promote your logo or business if you like.
