Book Review - Stepping Through Seagrass
Linda's new novel is a rich and colorful tapestry of several fascinating subplots. The author writes from the heart about many subjects that are close to my heart. She describes the power of friendship, the pain of starting over, American Indians, natural medicine, healing, love, work, and passion.
Throughout the novel, often written like a journal, the reader can feel the slow unraveling of a marriage. Then the painful pull of alcoholism. Yet, Stepping Through Seagrass is about five steps forward .. an uplifting book.
My favorite parts are about winning the struggle back to a career and finding love again. There is a balance of the positive with some delicious moments of poetic justice and sweet revenge.
Despite the many subplots, this book never loses focus. Linda weaves the story into a satisfying ending.
I brought Stepping Through Seagrass on a long flight from a Gulf of Mexico island to one in the Pacific Ocean. This book provided the perfect page-turner to help make a long flight short.
