On Friday May 16, 2003, Pennsylvania author W. Bryan Smith was awarded the Bruce H. Stanley Award for Humanities by Reading Area Community College.

Pennsylvania novelist W. Bryan Smith, author of Buddy & the Jack (AmericaHouse), was awarded the highly coveted Bruce H. Stanley Award for the Humanities by the Humanities Division at Reading Area Community College.
Smith, a student at the school, was honored for his work on the novel as well as for attaining the highest GPA in the Humanities program. He will graduate from the school in June.
He is currently working on his second novel, Starry Night, which should be completed later this year.
