Nov.30, 2004 -- Stacy Mantle is the recipient of
the Cat Writers'' Association Certificate of Excellence Award. Mantle was announced winner for her educational activity book entitled, “So You Have A New Kitten!” at the 2004 international Cat Writers'' Association (CWA) communication contest awards banquet held November 20, 2004, in Houston, Texas, as part of the annual CWA Professional Conference.
In order to be mentioned as a Cat Writers' Association Certificate of Excellence Award finalist, the entry must score an average of at least 90out of 100 possible points when judged by a three-person panel of CWAprofessional member judges.
“So, You Have A New Kitten!” is one of two animal related titles illustrated by J.C. Carpenter.The purpose behind these books is to educate children on how to humanely care for their new pets, including information on vaccinations, preventative care, and micro-chipping of adopted cats and dogs.
CWA was founded in 1992 and is dedicated to providing news, information and education on all aspects of cat care and welfare, as well as improving the quality of writing about cats.
