An interview with a local radio station goes to the extreme!
I recently held an interview with a local radio station in the Detroit Area in regards to my novel "The 95th". Little did I know that I would be ambushed by the host, his co-host and two others in the studio, who claimed to be supporters of the military and tried to dissuade me from publishing the novel any longer.
About 15 minutes into my so-called arguement with them, I finally realized that the hosts and studio folks were playing a game of "blast the guest" and were trying to rattle me with each question and comeback. I did not lead on to them and actually began firing back various conspiracy theories of my own related to the military.
After they became flabbergasted by my so called arrogance, I let a comment slip that one of the hosts family members was "being investigated for a marriage unbecoming of a Detroiter". After a pregnnt pause of more than 20 seconds, the studio exploded in laughter and we all had the most fun I have ever had as either an interviewee, interviewer, or play-by-play announcer in sports.
The call-ins after that point were spectacular, and it made for a great publicity stunt and event that I am sure is helping the novels in Detroit and the surrounding areas!
