Diversity in the performing arts program established in small southern town.
It started with Black History Month and has morphed into a program at a local Boys & Girls Club of Crittenden County. Youth are encourged to write poetry and perform Spoken Word, write plays, act, learn African Dance and Drumming and involve the parents in more than a support capacity.
The Wonder Town Players was started to expose local youth to a higher level of performing arts than Gangsta Rap and negligeable profiling. Gas prices cut down on my touring so we started to walk the walk of charity beginning at home.
Our first production " RIBS_Reflections in Black" by m. Bennett Hooper will be performed March 1,2008 . This will be the second performance of this one act play in West Memphis, Arkansas and the first at the Boys & Girls Club to kick off the new Performing Arts Program.
