A partially blind, partially paralyzed, woman on dialysis, needing a kidney has been in and out of the hospital practically every week for the last three years has been raped.
The victim is a 41 year old mother of two daughters who are in need of serious counseling since their mother's ordeal.
The woman is a diabetic who was placed on dialysis in February 2012 and suffered a stroke in April 2012 and was raped in May 2012. She has been blind in her right eye for 2 years and is losing sight in the left. She has suffered multiple seizures since her hospitalization. The rape also produced herpes. This incapacitated woman who can't walk was not and has not been involved in consensual sex.
She was questioned by Memphis detectives in the hospital and they turned the case over to the West Memphis Police Department. Detective Sammons who handled the case called her sister and informed her that the Prosecutor would not move on this case because of a difference in the woman's testimony. The Doctor at the hospital in Memphis informed the family that Memphis Detectives should have consulted with him prior to questioning the woman because of her mental and physical state. They did not.
The perp is well known in his community and considered a religious leader and has political aspirations. It is rumored that he denied raping the woman but said he knew who did. The woman knows him. She was usually taken to Memphis for dialysis by her mother who asked the perp to take her on the day of the rape. The victims’ continued seizures are extremely serious. Her family is severely distressed and keeps asking would this case have been handled differently in Crittenden County if the victim was a White female.
NO DNA FROM THE PERP HAS BEEN REQUESTED, NO BLOOD WORK, ETC. NOTHING. REPRESENTATIVES FROM AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES WILL BE CONTACTED TO AID IN THE ASSISTANCE FOR JUSTICE FOR THIS VICTIM WENDY MOORE.
I am requesting a copy of the WMPD police investigation report if the case is closed under THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT.
