Hooper was alsoa contributing poet prior to a scheduled live recording of neo-soul singer Phu-Cha Morris in Memphis recently (June 18,2004). The Memphis Commercial Appeal writer covering the standing room only event stated that Hooper's poetry made Bill Cosby's remarks seem like a Bryant Gumble monologue as she attacked urban practices of gaudiness, i.e. $2000-$3000 spinning rims on old cars.
