TimeWarner published My Brother's Journey. A rep indicated that my review is effective {like to quote, but it would be tacky. . .now, is someone were to torture me, I might be forced to...:)}. Hope the rep is right. If you ask me, every thinking and feeling adult should read the book. To be honest, I had to skim at times. The abuse was horrendous. What got me through was Richard Pelzer's courage. That and wanting to further educate myself. Marcia Duning, head of Angel's That Care, asked me to do a review, and I was -- am -- honored. I advise you to go to Angels That Care to read the review, then, if you have time and are so-minded, leave a comment about it at Author's Den. It can be found in my den, under Articles.
Other news: the issue of The Moonwort Review that I mentioned in my previous news flash is out. There is a piece by Diane Dees and poetry by Lyn Lifshin. . .ever so much more. The photographs and layout are perfect-o. L o v e i t.
In the same vein, the new Village Rambler is circulating. It is also very beautiful. Like Moonwort, a great read. Village Rambler is a print publication, but the editors maintain an Internet site. I will try to remember to look up the url & add it...tonight? More than a bit tired, so it may be Monday or Tuesday.
Personal news includes good recovery re Ray's {husband's}shingles and our daughter Debi's back fusion surgery. Of course it will be a good while before things return to normal for Deb. Good thing she is a real soldier, like her daddy.
Believe it or not, we will have two great grandchildren before the year is out. Isn't that w o n d e r f u l ?!!!!
