Steer ''round Potholes and Ice Slicks, Bridge''ll be a Snap evolved from a very short story that I wrote about a young girl who had been paralyzed as the result of a drunk-driver-caused accident. Comments kindly provided by Author''s Den members and the gutsy, hard-working (if at times resistive}patients at a rehabilitation center where I once worked as head of the Speech and Language Department inspired me to write a much more developed tale along the same lines. The characters began to grow on me - grew as they grew, so to speak -- and as a result, the story is far better than the one that inspired it. pjg 02/24/09
