Oklahoma Health Sciences Center literary journal), Crosstimbers and--on the Internet--Scribe & Quill.
9-23-04: Recovering from strabismus surgery to my left eye today. Doing fine, helped along by recent poetry acceptances by Mobius, Metro Library Magazine (Oklahoma City) and another from Crosstimbers (USAO, Chickasha).
9-4-2004: I received seven poetry awards at the Norman Galaxy of Writers annual writing contest, including firsts in both rhymed and unrhymed categories. My poem, "A Certain Age," won the Creme de la Creme award for the best entry in the contest.
In November, 2004, I read my poem, "Visiting the Alzheimer's Patient," at the reception for publication of Blood & Thunder, a literary journal published by medical students at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
I have received additional poetry acceptances from Mobius, Metro Library Magazine (Oklahoma Ciy) and Broomweed Journal.
I have conducted poetry readings at the Norman Veterans Center, Rivermont Retirement Community, Norman Center for Performing Arts and Norman Library.
