Canadian author, Biff Mitchell, is offering a new release of his book of short stories, “Clearings: A Collection of Four Stories”, for free distribution by libraries across the US and around the world in honor of National Library Week.
National Library Week 2003 marks the third year of The Campaign for America’s Libraries, a multi-year public education campaign sponsored by the ALA and libraries across the country to speak loudly and clearly about the value of libraries and librarians in the 21st century. The new release of Clearings, renamed “Clearings: Stories and a Poem” (ISBN: 0-9732799-0-7), is an expansion of the book previously available at ShortStuffBooks in Arkansas. The book received a four star review from Sara Webb Quest in Inscriptions Magazine (November 4, 2002, Volume 5, Issue 34). The current edition includes a previously unpublished story, a novella that was originally published in the British Science Fiction magazine, Voyage, and a poem to round out the environmental themes of the stories.
