Author invited to participate and present The Camel Boy, a novel about the Civil War for the 8th Annual Fort Worth Frontier and Fort Days, May 9-10 in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards.
In addition to the annual event, this is the Bicentennial year for Jefferson Davis. Davis's great, great grandson, Bertram Hayes-Davis will review the troops as Secretary of War. Accompanying him will be the Texas Camel Corps. As Secretary of War, Davis authorized camels to be transported to Texas in 1856 to serve with the U.S. Calvary on the Texas frontier.
