Hello friends...

          Just want to let all of you know that I have completed my entry for the November Novel Month at Nanowrimo.com.  The object was to write a complete novel, 50,000 word minimum, and submit it for entry to be chosen for prizes and possible publishing online.  The novel was to be original, without preplanning or writing in advance of the actual start date NOvember 1, 2008... deadline is the last day of the month; however, submissions began today, November 25th. 

            WHO SHOT THE SHERIFF? By: Linda Law, was submitted and is a fiction novel, 73,503 validated word count. 

    The story takes place in a small Mayberry style town in Texas, near Dallas/Ft.Worth.  It is not a western, however, the characters are down to earth regular folk, who enjoy the slower paced way of life.  Many large cities are within an hour or more, so the best of both worlds is at their fingertips...or...behind the wheel of their car or truck.   A double murder takes place (the first homicide in over 12 years)...and chaos begins. 

   Many of the local townfolk are suspects; and the mystery goes deeper as.... The Godfather of the mob family has relocated his Family from the East into this small rural community.  Although the Godfather has begun to change his Family from the illegal activity it had always used; he is transitioning his businesses into more legal and acceptable ways.  Most people in the community are not aware of the Mob or anything related to them; they simply accept the Godfather and his family as new residents in their valley.   

   The Sheriff of Cochise County, and the youngest daughter of the Godfather are found murdered in the bed of the Sheriff's home.  The Sheriff is married to the daughter of the founding father of Cochise, and she is the one who discovers the bodies in bed!   There is murder and intrigue and the characters are uniquely humorous and lovable, even when they are in sinister mode.

   The ending is a twister and the entire story is fun to follow along...twisting and turning and changing the "who done it?" theory.

   The Nanowrimo group awarded me with it's Completion Certificate, with my name and the name of my book, and also several Nanowrimo Winner 2008 badges that I can link to my website and other writings.  It was fun, and my brain was stretched as were my computer typing fingers.... I completed the novel, submitted and was acknowledged before the November 30th deadline!  I also exceeded the minimum number of words for the novel (50K) with a validated and verified total of 73,503 words!!
