The results of the first round of the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award were announced on February 25. Historical fiction, Hitler and Mars Bars, has been accepted into the second round in the Adult Fiction category.

Hitler and Mars Bars is the the tale of a remarkable child and era. Loosely based on historic events, it's the moving story of a child's journey through loss, loneliness, fear and uncertainty to hope, acceptance and love in war-torn Germany and post-war rural Ireland. Set against the backdrop of the little known Irish Red Cross initiative, Operation Shamrock, it's a heartwarming story of courage and determination.
