On January 11th, 2009  "The Sci-fi and Fantasy Book Club" (Arlington VA) invited Michael Sullivan to the group for their January reading of  "The Crown Conspiracy".  Everone liked the book so much that they are planning on having Michael back for the May meeting for book 2: Avempartha.

Michael Sullivan's "The Crown Conspiracy" was nominated by the group's organizer and was picked for the January read without requiring a vote (due to overwelming interest in having the author speak at the club). This is a group of 83 book reads who focus strictly on this genre of fiction.

Everyone who came had read the book and there was a lively discussion related to favorite characters and scenes and what they were expecting to occur in book #2. The session ran over it's usual 1 hour meeting time with a number of members linger to speak to the author in more depth after the offical meeting had ended.

During the session Michael provided background to the series as a whole and how it came into being.  His wife and publicist (Robin Sullivan) was on had to answer questions about getting an agent, publisher, and various aspects of getting the book into the hands of the public. 

The group unamiously agreed that it was the best fantasy book they have read so far and have already scheduled book 2:Avempartha for their May reading (Avempartha is sheduled for an April 1 release)
