Fantasy

Michael has been asked by the group's organizer Michael Klein to do a lecture on fantasy writing: It origins, recent influences, and where the genre is going from here.

The Arlington Writer's group an organization of 115+ writers in and around the Metro DC area has asked Michael Sullivan to give a talk on Wednesday March 1, 2009 about the fantasy writing. Michael has written a six-book fantasy series: The Riyria Revelations. The firt book, The Crown Conspiracy was released Oct 2008 and his second, Avempartha, is due April 1, 2009.

Michael's talk will include a history of the genre, trends, and recent influences including the effect of YA title and the sucess of movie blockbusters like Lord of the Rings.

He will be presenting from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the Barnes and Nobles at Clarendon Commons.
