Brother Hermitage is a medievel investigator of dubious quality. he has been described by Brother James, himself no exemplar of the monastic ideal, as 'one chant short of a plainsong..

In his various encounters with other people he has annoyed, irritated and driven to distraction in equal measure.

Just every now and then, perhaps when  the wind is in the right direction, he does make an impact.

Two such occasions are now public record.

April 2009 saw the publication of Hermitage and Hostelry, a tale of misinterpretation, misunderstanding and a dead dog.

September brought us news of Hermitage's encounter with a robber which ended very well. For the robber.
