In 1534, six years before the Spaniards came to the new world as conquerors, a chest was buried in the Grand Canyon's North Rim. Hopi Indians watched over and guarded the chest until the time was right for it to be found. That time is now.
When Dr. Carlin Thornton-Kramer got the phone call from her life-long friend, Aife, she had a premonition that life as she knew it was about to be changed. Aife was a world reknowned archaeologist, and she had found a statue in the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. She needed Carlin's help to get it from the dig. Aife had hidden it away from many people interested in getting it. The statue is of a woman formed in such a way that it appeared she is being held in the arms of another. Carlin discovers that the statue is a living entity, an alien; and they needed to find its counterpart, Shait. The alien calls herself Tara and informs Carlin that Earth was seeded by humans from the planets Mars and Venus thousands of eons ago. Gaia, Mother Earth, had called for cosmic assistance in saving the planet from total annihilation. She needed help in defeating Rypan, the Evil One. The negative energy created by humans through the centuries had originally attracted Rypan to Earth; after consuming this energy he intends to destroy the earth before invading other thriving planets in the galaxy.
Carlin is introduced to Rama, her soul-mate from many past lives. She begins to experience awakening spiritual powers and her slight telepathic skills appear to be growing. Meanwhile, Rypan is destroying the planet; and only Carlin and a handful of humans, along with their alien allies, have any hope of stopping him. From the Evil One's stronghold of New Jericho, they make a treacherous journey up Africa's "Corridor of Conquest" to the fabled Mountains of the Moon, where a small band of stalwart heros make their last stand against Rypan. The fate of Earth and her remaining inhabitants hang on the outcome.
EVIL SEED is an epic story of good and evil with a villian who is sure to keep you up nights. There is good development of characters with a spine-chilling suspenseful plotline. You will find yourself on the edge of your seat wondering if they will succeed in defeating the evil Rypan. The romantic element is sizzling and red-hot as the two lovers find each. I did find the author wordy in places, and the story could have been told without so much detail to the historical aspects of the tale. Still, readers will find EVIL SEED a good read with an unusual storyline that will have them thinking about the book long after they finish reading it.
