My publicist and I have been working this last month on what kind of presentions I can offer and who I would focus on. After much discussion we came up with something that fits me like a glove. I am SO excited. We are  developing three kinds of presentations. A day of prayer for people with severe mental illness, a morning of prayer for caregivers of people who are elderly, and a day seminar for churches regarding welcoming people with severe mental illness and helping them develop faith sharing groups for people with mental illness and another group for their familiy members.

Our Mental Health Association has support groups already and I know they have been very successful. Sometimes people need a safe place to discuss their illness with others who share some of the same challenges. I am going to focus on the spiritual aspect.

I know there is still stigma and will come across it when I talk to some churches- yet, I am o.k. with that because they are the ones I most want to reach and offer education.I will have a panel of people with mental illness who are involved with their church and how they felt welcomed and a bit of their story.

If you know of a church in your area who might be interested in a seminar please let me know. I can do it on skipe - don't know if that's how you spell it. Because I am a caregiver for my mom I can't travel to another state unless it was for a conference where they invite me to speak.
