Poetry

2nd place Winner of Anita Boggs Memorial Fund Biennial Award

My free verse poem, "In the Company House" appears in the Special Biennial Issue/Summer 2010 on page 15.

It was written as a tribute and in memory of my Slovak grandmother, Mary Hudak, and my Ukranian grandfather Andrej Wanisko.

They were immigrants who met and married and reared 12 children in their "new" country, the United States of America.

Thank goodness for me that they did.
