Mid-South Annual Poetry Festival

Immersing in Read Aloud Poetry is fabulous!

To be surrounded in Memphis, TN, by talented poets for an entire day, and listening to them share their winning poetry as well as other winners' poems was thrilling and inspirational.

The Poetry Society of Tennessee members, known for this gathering, featured Jim Barton, nationally-recognized poet and resident of the Arkansas Delta, who offered a workshop. Insight and excitement ruled the day!

Patricia A. Oplinger, Cherokee Village, AR participated in this 56th Annual Mid-South Poetry Festival at the University of Memphis Holiday Inn on October 6, 2012.

Oplinger was awarded 1st Place in a members’ Read Around performing “Together” from In the Playhouse of My Mind Volume I of her Circle of Life Trilogy. She received 3rd HM for her poem “First Time” in the Carolyn Hauer Leggett Memorial category.

Pat will be giving a Novice Writers Workshop for Writers’ Ink in Jonesboro, Arkansas at 10 A.M.-Noon on October 18, 2012 at the public library.
