2014 Awards presented by the Poetry Society of Tennessee in Memphis

Patricia A. Oplinger received 2nd Place in the Ogden Nash Memorial Award category for her rhyming poem, "January Alarm", which focuses on holiday overindulgences we all make and their aftermath.

Pat also garnered a 2nd Honorable Mention in a category that honored Mick Denington and Russell Strauss, for her villanelle titled "The Fallen". It honors those who bravely stormed the Normandy beaches during World War II.

The Mid-South Poetry Festival is a competition for poets from across the USA. It is sponsored annually by the Poetry Society of Tennessee, the Memphis Branch of the National Federation of State Poetry Societies.
