On Saturday, October 18, 2014 the Don Reynolds Library in Mountain Home, Arkansas was alive with poets from across the state.

Todd Sukany, Poet, Professor, Author, Arkansas State Poetry Critic was the featured speaker, and the Free Verse Poetry Group of Mountain Home lit up the event with their enthusiastic hosting of the celebration.

Patricia A. Oplinger was among award winning poets who competed in 23 challenging contests. She received 2nd HM in the Opal Jane and Harry O'Neal Memorial category for "The Couple on the Six o'clock News" and 2nd Place in the Ft. Smith Poets and Writers category for "Following a Freeze".
