Ozark Writers' League sponsors 2016 Annual Fall Contest.
In the Fall 2016 writing contest sponsored by the Ozark Writers' League, Patricia A. Oplinger won a 3rd Place award in the traditional Haiku category and 2nd place in the Free Verse category.
Her Free Verse poem reflects her experiences inside state prison walls while participating in The Storybook Project, an ongoing literacy program she established in 1997 in the McPherson Unit, of Newport, Arkansas. The Storybook Project is carried out in three state prison units currently. Plans to include a fourth unit are underway.
