73rd Annual Arkansas Writers' Conference

Poetry

The Pioneer Branch of the National League of American Pen Women and other individuals and groups sponsor the Annual Arkansas Writers'' Conference in Little Rock, AR.

The Crown Plaza Hotel was bursting with writers June 3, 2017 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tommy Hancock (Pro Se Productions) and Renee LaViness (Children's Books author) publisher/editors were available for author pitches throughout the day. They also spoke individually on specific poetry, prose and book topics as did Jerry Davis and Mary Lou Moran, Bernadette Kiniaw, Andrea Campbell and Karen.

Jan Martin was enrolled into the Arkansas Writers Hall of Fame at the luncheon and gave a brief acceptance speech. Awards were presented afterwards for 20 different contests.

Patricia A. Oplinger received 3rd HM from South Arkansas Poets of the Pines; 1st HM for in the David Goodgame Memorial category; 1st Place in the Arkansas Pioneer Branch NLAPW Poetry category.
