Our current 30-minute film, “The Fisher Prince – Wake Up Your Destiny”, will be officially released February 16, 2006 along with the book by writer and poet Huda Orfali, “The Fisher Prince”.
Billion Dollar Films is financing new film productions by upcoming independent film producers. It has aquired a huge library of film footage from thousands of existing titles like the 1927 classic film "Metropolis", the Charlie Chaplin collection, and more modern films like "Last Man On Earth" with Vincent Price (1964). The idea is to have the film producers tell a new story with existing footage.
Our first release will be available February 16, 2006 directly from the BillionDollarFilms.com web site as a 2-disc set (CD and DVD). "The Fisher Prince - Wake Up Your Destiny" features a modern (acid jazz) surround sound musical score by Teo Graca and original footage from the Fritz Lang’s 1927 classic film “Metropolis” as well as other footage. It will also be available with the book by writer and poet Huda Orfali, “The Fisher Prince”. (Film release party coming in March.)
The financing program is unique in the industry and is the brainstorm of Mr. Samual Morse, Marketing Director for Billion Dollar Films. "Each time we fund a film, we contract the producer with options for additional films. This means that if we make the next Terminator, Star Wars or Lord of the Rings, our share holders will have a piece of this film and subsequent releases from the same producer, director and featured crew." Mr. Morse goes on to reference the successes of television program providers such as Mike Judge (King of the Hill), Trey Parker (South Park) and Jimmy Kimmel (The Man Show): "These guys are out there just waiting to be picked up and we plan to get them on our team."
This program offers Film Enthusiasts part ownership for as little as a $100 purchase and pays out a portion of it's profit bi-annually. It publicly posts its financial reports on its web site for all to see. Now that [Billion Dollar Films] is signing up with On-Demand DVD Distribution with NetFlix and sales through Amazon.com, we feel very comfortable with having them manage our fullfilment obligations.
