This has become the worst of all political years in my lifetime.  Not only has a buffoon been nominated for the top U.S. job, he is now apparently the choice of both the KGB and the CIA, two organizations devoted to lies, dishonesty, and the quest for power.  In the waning days before the elections, their influences are being felt with more and more disgust.  As a result Hillary Clinton’s lead has slipped precipitously in the polls, although she is still the projected winner.  The House is now projected to remain in the control of Republicans, while the Senate is now tied at 50 Democrats, and 50 Republicans.  All of which portends 4 more years of divided government in which the Republicans will continue with their objective of obstructionism, which also plays into the hands of hate, deceit, and disunity here and around the world.  

I will cast my vote today for Hillary Clinton, not only to fulfill my tiny place in human history with as much honor as I can, but also to let my grand kids know that there is something that feels really good to stand on the right side of history when the liars and the power mongers are collected on the wrong side of it.  

It is also unlikely that I will see another Presidential election, and it is starting to smell better just to get the stench of rotten politics out of my nostrils.  Who would have guessed that voters could have been influenced by the destruction of personal emails, something that I and most others are glad to cast into the great abyss of cyber space everyday.  Thank you, Bernie Sanders, for summarizing this bit of campaign 2016 so perfectly:  “I don’t care about those damned emails!”  Me neither.
