West Texas, Oct. 13, 2021. At the age of 90, William Shatner, aka Captain James T. Kirk--the man, the voice, the tv legend—became the oldest living mortal to blast off from the launching pad in the Texas prairie to take his rightful place among the lineup of US astronauts. Its 15 minute mission: to open the reaches of outer space, to seek out new possibilities for humanity. To boldly go where few men or women have gone before!
How fitting the time, how perfect the setting, how exciting the blastoff with this man as part of the crew, who often took the Enterprise to Warp speeds 6 times the speed of light should once again emblazon his name in the pages of the Captain’s Log of the Space Ship Blue Origin.
On his safe return home, Shatner was almost too emotional to describe the events of the 60 mile flight up and return, while experiencing 3 minutes of weightlessness.
