Exploring the history, traditions, rock art, folklore and mythology of the Owens Valley Paiute, Varner also addresses the Ghost Dance which originated among this people, the water wars which reduced a potentially viable agricultural area to a dust bowl and the many mysterious beings that are part of the Paiute cosmology.
