Niki Collins-Queen was born in New Orleans on June 15, 1950, lived in South Africa as a child and moved to middle Georgia in the mid 70s. She married Bud Queen a contacting officer for the Department of Defense and the Georgia National Guard in 1998. They live in a log cabin near Forsyth, Georgia and travel the U.S. in their RV.

She was a Pan American World Airways Flight Attendant in New York, Boston and London for two years in the early 70s.

She worked at Macon's River Edge Behavioral Health Center's as a Child and Family Therapist for 20 years, spearheaded the Macon Child Sex Abuse Task Force in the early 80s and served as Acting Director for the Children's Unit in 1991.

She is a Licensed Professional Counselor who leads seminars on Ecopsychology and other mental health topics for Professional Associations, schools, hospitals and clinics. She received a Master of Science Degree in Community Mental Health from Fort Valley State College, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Mercer University in Macon and studied art and philosophy at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.

She was on the Dean's List at Mercer University, received the Catherine J. Duncan Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement at Fort Valley State College, received the Art Award from Krugersdorp High School in South Africa and a Certificate of Honor from Germaine School of Photography in New York City.

She was an ordained minister with the Alliance of Divine Love International Interfaith ministry from 1987 to 2012.

She is the author of a memoir “Earth, the Forgotten Temple: A Spirit Quest in the Wilderness” where she hitchhiked on sailboats in the Bahamas, canoed the 100-mile Everglades Wilderness Waterway and solo backpacked in the Georgia mountains.

Her articles have been published in the Atlanta Journal, the Macon Telegraph, the Monroe County Reporter, Atlanta's Oracle20-20 and Aquarius and Middle Georgia's Columns Magazine.

She reviewed newly released books for the Amazon.com Vine Voice program for 12 years and was a top book reviewer for Amazon.U.K.

She has lead canoe, hiking and backpacking trips for the Georgia Wilderness Society since the late 70s and served as President in 1992. She received the Gene Espy and the Earl Pearce Award from the the Georgia Wilderness Society for outstanding community service and leadership in the early 90s.

Niki has two stepchildren, Buddy and Karen Queen and two grandchildren, Drew and Kesley.
