My books and ebooks have all been/ and still are available on Amazon.
However, I had decided that to have my ebooks just in Kindle format was limiting, even though the Kindle app is available for iPad and PC. So, I decided to convert all my ebooks into PDF versions, which can be downloaded to iPad (iBooks) and PC via my new Click here
However, in August, over two days, ALL my ebooks were bought, downloaded and later refunded - from Amazon.com. This galvanised me into action.
I have no problem with anyone not liking my books - its their choice, but these were downloaded and appeared as 'refunded' before anyone could have read more than a few pages of even one of the books.
If they were faulty, or whoever's Kindle/computer wouldn't accept a file, why download ALL of them? If you don't like a book, why download two versions ( one illustrated and the other without illustrations) of the same book? Why download children's books as well as adult, prose as well as poetry?
Now, anyone might say that these were many people - I don't think so.I think this was one person - either bored with their day, saving the files 'free' (if that is possible), or even copying them. Who knows?
Kindle eBooks can be 'sampled' before purchase, so rarely is one of my books refunded once bought. Up to the present, my books and poems are not well known, so a sudden sale of one copy of them all on the same day, was, in my view, suspicious. I reported the issue to Amazon, who agreed it needed investigation - but can not tell me what their investigations found.
So, I have made a website, just for my eBooks - eventually enabling buying for the KIndle or buying a PDF version directly. I am busy converting them all. You may be thinking 'get a life', but there are advantages of being retired - at least I have the time, and, besides writing, I love technology!
Anyway, the website is Click here
