 RISE OF THE BENGALI AND THE INDIAN DIASPORA

THOUGH I had never spelt out before in such clear words, all of my essays are to be viewed in this context. You view it as F1/H1 visa and the second generation PIO. Over the past ten years the latter category is significantly visible in USA and Europe, signalling a change as to how we view Indians, perhaps a similar perception was obvious in post-Deng China.

Our PM, Mr Narendra Modi, visited the Whitehouse as the State Guest, the rare distinction after honourable Radhakrishnan and Manmohan Singhji. The PM also became the first Indian to receive 'The Order of the Nile' from the President of Egypt. As you had discussed in the US press, the Indians are getting collaboration for manufacturing of engines and semiconductors in addition to other aspects of the IT sectors. The strategic partnership in USA, and with Egypt, is a new wave of thoughts in the post-USSR world order.

If you look at the map of the world, with Iran-Russia-PRC developing geo-political strategic alliance leaving the future of Western Europe to NATO, Indians are being pulled away from the pro-Left NAM towards wealthy NATO sphere of influence. The new initiative at QUAD is a concern for some sympathetic to China in the SAARC. It appears that this tension is causing visibility of China in Pakistan, Nepal, Srilanka and Myanmar. Some believe that the concern of the Chinese in the China Sea and the Indian Ocean are behind such actions. The tensions are aggravated if the US or their NATO partners want presence in St. Martin or in the Andamans.

When you look back at us, the people of Indian origin, you would discover rise of Bengalis going out of their homestates settling all over, making alliances with their brethren from India and eventually becoming part of demographics of the current Western democracies post-2020. I view it as admiration of the Russian bloc and reawrd from the American blocks. I shall expand my thoughts later in my book, now renamed 'War and Peace'.

Last, but not the least, presence of ethnic Indians in mainstream White lifestyle would also come with new families with music and cuisine, much like what you experienced in Cajun cultures in the American history. With this in mind I shall post a few Indian recipes acceptable to working caucasian families.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

I am back again to share my thoughts and plans. It comes in bits and pieces and in spurts. It reflects the uncertainties and instabilities in my life. At times it appears wishful thinking, and I hope none is offended by assuming me megalomaniac. When I look for business or responsible positions, I share my plans; when the plans don't work out I lie low.

But of my plans in Bangalore and Kolkata did work better than how it was in Chicago long ago. AuthorsDen can take part of the credits for my success, and my steady perseverance is behind the rest of the story.

Thanks to AuthorsDen I could share previews of my books and plans, and  could really finish editing two books, now uploaded in Amazon.com. Kindle publishing and Amazon marketing made my efforts easy since it were free of charge. I priced my books 1--3 dollars but you can get free with unlimited Kindle.

My books are now in ebook format. I would make hardcopies only after a good review and incorporating corrections. Since currently I am an unpaid free member with the Den, my storage quota is already filled up, and I cannot upload any new material here until I get storage space. Anyway I can share the news.

The books that I had uploaded are Yama Yawning and Elo Melo (at sixes and sevens). They are yours to browse through.

  After showing you some books I feel comfortable to share few m ore plans or whims; part of which might be already known to y ou. I mean to finish a short book, which I call pamphlet, on cytochromes and Emanuel. It is a paper I wanted to write during m y post-doc. But it had to be formatted like a book since Prof  had expired in 2008.  Then I want finish rest of the two parts of Elo Melo, and the pending works like raja hover spardha and chotta morog. It is my hope and urneast desire to finish them by the end of 2024, so that I become free for newere papers for JMB and book on American essays named War and Peace. They would be me priorities for the year 2025.

Enough plans at this age. In the meantime I look for jobs like Principal, Vice Chancellor or Director non teaching in teaching Institutions. Fortunately  thanks too my siblings,  I can sleep safely in my father's apartment, a piece of mind.

MY NEXT BOOK 'ELO MELO'

One of the reasons why people thought me Irish is because I speak vernacular as well as like music in many languages.

It had been a long time at this Den, I lost direct touch myself, but my niece and few of my students had done well in the USA over the past five years.

It had been snow blizzards again in USA, you called them 'bomb cyclone' this time. I don't write here regularly but I still share with my warmth. You are welcome to browse through my blogs at the Facebook, but usually the topics are of more local interests.

One bit of information that I mean to share is that I am close to finishing one book Elo Melo, that is to be uploaded in Amazon soon. Here I have restrictions on space, now being on free membership.

I mean to finish writing majorities of my non-scientific work soon. It is expected that I finish about 6or 7 ebooks by 2024 Christmas. Then I would put a stop, since I do not want to plan beyond 2025. Some of you feel that I overplann, but actually I make comprehensive and robust plans, and that is consistent with my career goals as college professor. Such plans are redundant now. 

Now I write as I go along at an easy pace. I shall keep you posted.

MY BOOK " THE DARE IN ME...."

THE book was notified on this page of mine long long ago sometime before 2010.

It is finally over. It overlaps in part with my unpublished book I am a hands in the pocket (updated). It also takes many of the pages after 15 or so years!  

The book would be uploaded soon, but date of publication not yet finalized. I can share a preview and make a list of links onton thwythe reference material can read online..

The content is as follows:

The book starts with an very short essay on culture, God and king. And it ends with another essay on life without God and kings.

The bulk of the book about politicians and celebrities. The book draws heavily from Wikipedia and Encyclopedia Britannica. But I let you make your own conclusions without emphasizing my theory on culture.

Following are some names that are mentioned:

Charles III, Tutankhamen, FDR, founder of Israel, Napoleon, Einstein, Newton, Hitler, Caeser, Mussolini, Jesus, Marquez, Maupassant, Gorki and such 45 Individuals in total.

INDIAN PM IN LONDON AND HOPE THE FAIREST

ANTI-IMPERIALISM: WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO AN AMERICAN

The discourses that we have all over the world:-- during, before,after, and even today--- is the same disagreement between the rich and the poor, the haves and the havenots.

Myself being born in a poor populous but ver talented, country named India of course fall into the side of the poor in the thirdworld who are critical of American economic and political issues. I had been a Pro-American Ganndhian Socialist and I am no exception in being critical at times as regards value of dollar, inflation etc. I appear proAmerican because I like your sense of freedom, free speech and aspectsof lectionering models.

I got along well with many white Americans, I think the policies I am critical of affect you within USA often as they do affects out siide USA. So these are matters of economic models, and often monopoly capital are at loggerheads with US public interests. In those cases you might find me pro-government and pro-people business not towing somecorporate lines,

So it is like living in the third world within USA or like first world in India.These aspects I had developed into what I call "Rupee, Rouble Dollar". I mean to expand on the theme later.

Accordingly I hold no grudges or prejudices against White Americans, though some of you might not approve of my political positions.

SMALL BUSINESS MODEL IS NOT UN-AMERICAN

I jotted down few lines way back in January 2016, soon after I got a dream of Chicago without snows. I waited for another dream to resume. And in this second dream sometimes early 2022, I returned to USA, as if young and talking the way I was. So I motivated myself to finish my work in Kolkata and start this column.

In the meantime, long six or seven years, so many things happened and you can get a glimpse of my ups and downs on my Facebook page. You can also get my newer students from Kolkata in the Facebook page. During these years I kept my smiley face and calm: non one would have guessed the hell I was facing! Good news was my niece Soumi went to Florida and finished her undergraduate. I am happy that she did very well in her studies.

I was terminated again from College, probably eighth or ninth time in India. I went to Court several times. I had complaints of cheating on several occasions and not being able to buy flats and start business. As a result my income went down, savings dried up and even paying rent, electricity, life insurance or health insurance became a problem. I just meant to remain alive. It may sound familiar to many of you living in the USA.

I wanted to pursue with a small local business model to keep my intellectual life alive. In USA people usually get paid through big business (NIH, corporate, State or Federal funds). India is similar, but by situation was different after so many terminations. And I tried to live like the locals, note that they can raise families with local income. My regular salary in academic institutions should be between Rs 1to 3 lakhs per month.. In local business in my particular case a monthly pay out of  Rs 30000 from a business with annual sales of Rs 1 crore (approximately) was a reasonable target. This sum was enough to keep myself going with  my modest lifestyle in Kolkata. But in Bengali one saying goes  'abhaga jedike jai Sagar sukaye jai'( figuratively meaning ill luck follows wherever one hides). So I failed, you can blame God, Devil or Political prejudice!

Anyway I rediscovered my 1996, when I came to know you better. But this time I am better off in my father's flat.So I hope to live longer than I  had assumed!

But what do you think of me? Mental, depressive, nutty?! I only say that I am bright, motivated and well educated. You might not believe the papers I presented during 2016 and 2020. That's why some are not willing to pay me. And that's the reason I might qualify for another salary! I did finish books in biotech, but could not publish. I shall make another attempt and to write a good book in fields related to biotechnology. 

I shall be happy if some of you care to read me and appreciate my strong will. As you could have guessed  I could not marry nor could boast of my own lineage as you had thought I possibly could.. I may be Indian Biotechnogy, and  Prof Watson may be American Biotechnogy; but you cannot find me un-American.

I read the news of snow in the USA and visited the UIC in dream. I wish you well as I prayed for those who might be living without heating at home. I have no plans for visiting the USA, and I wish you success.
