With a slight breeze the fresh flowers swung within their wheat-colored baskets hung throughout. Day and night without rest coming from the nearby highway was the deep grinding routine of ground transportation. People dressed like they might have come from somewhere out of space. Their language was hard to understand.

Like many times before, the warmth of the sun penetrated Jake's cool body. For some reason today the climate changed, he felt cold and no longer could he sense the movement of life. His weight remained shiftless in the depth of the warm earth and yet he was at peace within himself. Mankind struggles with the very will to survive, even in the twenty-first century.
