The Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts (CAAPA) a non-profit 501c3 arts organization dedicated to supporting Blacks in classical music and others in the performing arts believes an open conversation regarding diversity on the opera stage, in the orchestra pit, and in artist’s management for classical musicians of color, should be explored in an open forum.  CAAPA will do so with arts journalist Patrick D. McCoy leading the panel talk as moderator and featuring panelists Robin Faye Massie, Michelle Fowlin, and W. Andre Graves sharing their views on those subjects and more. Experts in the fields of concert violin, conducting, and arts management, respectively, the panel program will also include clips from a documentary featuring famed soprano Kathleen Battle.  The free to the public event takes place at the Montpelier Arts Center, 5692 Muirkirk Road, Laurel, Maryland at 1:00 pm.  Tickets are not required.
