Author Mary Woldering, courtesy of her "Children of Stone" blog, conducted a book character interview with one of the protagonists from my multi-award winning Contemporary, 'An Enlightening Quiche'.
Here's an excerpt from the interview:
Question #3 - Did you have a happy childhood? Why/why not?
Answer:
Happy? I made do, cherishing childhood memories growing up with Marc Brulé and his sister, Estelle, my best friend. Besides coping with a “cover-up” which I won’t get into—I’ve contended with being abandoned by my mother before my first birthday, much to my own detriment. Motherless and mistrustful of her motives to call it quits, I underwent rites of passage typecast as resignation, resentment, and rebellion.
