Competition and Comraderie

I so LOVE quiche! So thrilled to have yet another recipe included at the end! An ‘old family’ recipe found leads to a competition between two friends. But, wait! The descriptiveness and engaging prose reveal more than one would expect. The title is, most certainly, fitting!
A wonderfully woven story and, much like, any recipe, (a quiche in particular) altering or substituting one ingredient for another creates a new flavor. Different but exciting just like the protagonists, Augusta and Lindsay! Two different worlds, yet, as the competition begins, we get a ‘taste’ of what each share: secrets, revelations about their past, desires (some unfulfilled), and the ‘what if’s. Pasco doesn’t skimp on using a variety of literary devices in the ‘Enlightening’ piece: comedy, drama, a touch of suspense.
The author’s unique style is a refreshing approach but, moreover, the dialogue and visceral images will have you most definitely looking forward to turning page after page. (I truly appreciated the pastoral setting, as well) Creative. Engaging. Highly recommended!
