AI Enabled Voter Suppression
And you thought AI might take only your job away...
Few breakthroughs have brought with it more hopes for the good of humanity than artificial intelligence. We thought we were standing at the beginning of a new age where almost anything was possible—with new and better designed highways, bridges, and airplanes, to name but a few. We might even have set our sights on finding new ways to do almost anything from complex surgeries, to driver-less autos, to navigating to the moon and beyond. But no, all it took was one rotten ideologue, staring at a ballot box, with a single word oozing through his demented brain: “Jackpot!” Followed by, “AI could be the gift that keeps on giving. With just a little help, we could have all our rotten candidates crawling through ballots, and in voting booths, emails, TV ads, and hiding in strange phone calls all over America while innocent voters elect all our demented brothers and sisters from sea to shining sea. Is this a great country, or what?”
Apparently, that night-mare is real, and it’s here now. Just direct all known fair-minded neighbors to the wrong precincts, delete their name form eligible lists, or cause traffic jams at critical locations. I won’t identify other diversions that might help or encourage the bastards.
And so, on reflection, why not use AI to help solve this looming mess? There are lots of universities and spy networks busy identifying the weakest links in our networks to keep our elections as free from malevolent intruders as possible. And so, rather than transcribing their words onto my spotlessly clean surface, I will just list their references. I first read them to be certain that AI sources are not up to some sort of AI meddling with my legitimate search methods.
