My Amazon 5-Star review for Eva Pasco's superb novel! Lilly Adam
A 5-Star gem!
This amazing book by the accomplished author, Eva Pasco, was everything I expected and more. Not my usual genre, but my yearning to take a nostalgic trip down memory lane prompted me to indulge in this beautifully written compilation of memoirs from the sixties. I was born in 1960, so as a child, growing up in London during this period, I could relate to many of Eva’s short, informative and often witty anecdotes. She has a beautiful style of writing, and I felt as though Eva was in the same room as me, chatting away about her memories and experiences. I became familiar with her family, which gave me a true and realistic insight into her life in the 1960s.
I was able to pick up this charming companion and relish in a daily dose of pure joy, jogging memories of my view master, my brother's gun caps (which at the time terrified me!) and childhood days spent skipping, roller skating and hula hooping! Eva is a skilled and articulate author whose fluent and polished writing makes for an absorbing read.
I highly recommend this five-star masterpiece to all who wish to meander through this legendary decade, no matter which year you were born. Thank you, Eva, for a lovely read that left me contentedly daydreaming about my early years!
